A Hartford mosque was left with serious damage after a driver lost control and crashed into the building.
Early Saturday morning, Hartford police observed a car travelling at a high rate of speed in the area of Main St. and Mahl Ave.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and it began to spin then crashed into the Masjid Umar Ibn Al Khattab Mosque at 2017 Main St.
The driver of the car had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Hartford Fire Department and transported to Hartford Hospital.
The accident is under investigation.
