Catch a Train…Watch a Game

Want to go to a Yankees game? Why not let Metro-North take you there?

The commuter rail line has launched  direct service to the new Yankee Stadium from New Haven.  Metro-North's direct Westport to Yankee Stadium service will began on Saturday May 23 as well.

On weekends, The New Haven and Harlem lines will have direct service to and from the stadium on 153rd Street. During the week, fans will have to catch a shuttle at the 125th Street station.

For too long fans have had to endure traffic and long train rides to the stadium. But not anymore.  Metro-North officials expect around 10,000 fans to enjoy the newly offered luxury. After all, they deserve it.  It has taken 2 years and $91 million to build the new Yankee Stadium.

There is one catch, though. Under an approved pricing plan, Connecticut fans will pay $1 above the ticket price of traveling to Grand Central Terminal during peak hours, and 75 cents during off-peak periods, which includes weekends.

Service timetables and locations are available at Saugatuck Station and Grand Central Station.
