Yum! Celebrate Strawberries

All across Connecticut, strawberry stands are popping up and the signs are up to pick your own.

Trust us, the berries are sweet this year and area farms are celebrating the fruit of their labor with festivals for the berries.

On June 13, Lyman Orchards in Middlefield is holding its strawberry festival. It includes a mix of free and fee-based events including contests, musical entertainment and breakfast on the deck.

In Cheshire, the Congregational Church is holding its annual Strawberry festival on the 13th as well, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you have kids, there's more for them to do than mess up their outfits with strawberry juices. Therewill be pony rides, a petting zoo, music and fresh strawberry shortcake.

The festival is on the green in front of the church at 111 Church Drive.

There will be good old-fashion fun in Unionville at the Strawberry Festival and Craft Fair. There will be burgers, dogs, cotton candy and of course strawberry shortcake. It’s June 20 at New Horizons Village at 37 Bliss Road.

North Canton Community United Methodist Church is holdings its 58th annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 20 from 11a.m. to 5 p.m.
