Chaperone Gave Booze to Minors at School Dance: Cops

A Naugatuck woman is under arrest, charged with supplying alcohol to minors at a semi-formal dance.

Watertown Police arrested Jennifer Jackson, 32, of Naugatuck Wednesday.

She was a chaperone at the dance held at the Grand Oak Villa in Watertown in February, when she gave alcohol to a number of minors, police said.

Jackson was arrested while appearing at Waterbury Superior Court on an earlier charge of supplying alcohol to minors in Southbury, the Waterbury Republican American reported.

She is a math teacher, and coaches the girls' basketball and volleyball teams at Pomperaug High School, the paper reported.

Jackson is on paid administrative leave from the school, according to the Republican American.
