Child, 4, and Teen, 17, Accidentally Shot in New London

Shooters firing at an individual in New London accidentally shot and injured a 4-year-old child and a 17-year-old late on the evening of Memorial Day, police said.

New London police received several 911 calls at 9:52 p.m. on Monday reporting a shooting near 40 Crystal Ave.

When they arrived, police found a teen with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in his upper arm and a 4-year-old child with a "minor graze wound possibly from a bullet," police said.

The victims were accidentally struck when shooters were firing at another person, police said.

Witnesses said they saw two shooters, however no suspects have been identified.

The shooting incident remains under investigation and police searched the courtyard on Tuesday morning.
