New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is making stops in Connecticut to rally support for fellow Republican Linda McMahon in her campaign for U.S. Senate.
Christie is scheduled to appear with the former wrestling executive at three campaign rallies Monday afternoon in Stamford, Waterbury and Glastonbury.
McMahon's campaign has said Christie plans to talk about why "strong, independent voices" like McMahon's are needed in Washington.
McMahon is in a close race against Democratic Congressman Chris Murphy. They are vying for the seat held by the retiring Sen. Joe Lieberman, an independent.
Also on Monday, McMahon is kicking off another weeklong jobs tour. She is scheduled to visit nearly 20 small businesses to hear about the challenges owners, managers and employees face.
Murphy was scheduled to participate in an event at Yale University Monday night. He was expected to be joined by Sen. Richard Blumenthal and the president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund to discuss women's health care rights.
The event is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Sudler Recital Hall at 100 Wall Street in New Haven.
