Church Member Hurt in Good Friday Crash

The crash happened outside of the Church of the Incarnation on Prospect Street in Wethersfield.

An elderly parishioner was seriously injured in a crash outside of a Wethersfield church just before Good Friday services this afternoon.

A car and a pickup truck collided on Prospect Street near Church of the Incarnation.

Rev. James Moran, the pastor of the church, administered the Anointing of the Sick to the parishioner.

"I returned to the church, got the oils for the anointment of the sick, becuase I was concerned he was gravely injured," Rev. Moran said.

The anointing of the sick is one of the seven sacraments in Catholicism, often given to people who are dying, gravely ill or about to undergo an operation.

The man's condition was not clear Friday evening.
