Connecticut Panel to Hold Hearing on Transportation Needs

The Connecticut Public Transportation Commission wants to hear from the public about their unmet public transportation needs.

A panel has scheduled the last of three public hearings on June 3 at the Hamden Government Center. Commission members are gathering testimony from the public, transportation providers, public officials and others about the operation of public transportation services.

The group is particularly interested in receiving input about the need for a vehicle garage for the Greater New Haven Transit District, the adequacy of local Dial-a-Ride services and the level of demand for the upcoming New Haven-to-Hartford-to-Springfield passenger rail service. Also, they're seeking testimony about the need for additional inter-regional transit connections and other issues.

The commission will use the testimony to prepare recommendations to the governor, transportation commission and General Assembly.
