Connecticut Plastic Bag Fee Resumes on July 1

NBCUniversal, Inc.

The governor suspended the fee that residents are charged when using single-use plastic bags in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that will expire soon.

The executive order expires on June 30 and the state  Department of Revenue Services said retailers should prepare to resume collection of the 10-cent fee on July 1.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is encouraging people to use reusable bags.
