With Father's Day this weekend, Connecticut was ranked as the best state for working fathers, according to a new survey from WalletHub.
The study looked at 22 "key indicators" in the 50 states and the District of Columbia with the goal of finding the best, most-friendly state for working dads. The indicators ranged from average workday length to family income.
Connecticut came in eighth overall for "economic and social well-being" and fourth for "work-life balance." The state placed 15th for median family income and 16th for the average length of the work day for males.
In the new research, Connecticut has the third lowest percentage of kids aged 0 to 17 living in poverty. The Nutmeg State had the second highest men's life expectancy in the study.
Minnesota came in second place overall, followed by Massachusetts, New Jersey and Rhose Island. New Hampshire was 10th overall and New York falls at 20 on the list. Part of the reason for New York's place on the list was for its high child care costs.
