Connecticut Traps First Mosquito to Test Positive for West Nile Virus This Season

Connecticut has trapped its first mosquito of the season to test positive for West Nile Virus.

The mosquito was trapped on July 8 at Churchill Park in Newington.

The state has tested more than 60,000 mosquitoes since mid-June. So far, none have tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis.
