Stamford police arrested a convicted felon who they said had a gun on him.
Police started investigating when they received intel that a man driving a black Honda civic with red rims had a handgun in the area of 864 Cove Road, police said.
At 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, officers set up surveillance and saw a vehicle matching the description pull into the parking lot and back into a parking space at Cove Pizza, so they approached, blocked the car in, pulled guns and demanded that the man show his hands.
The man, however, did not comply, police said.
He did have a gun appeared, which appeared not to be loaded, according to police, and he threw several bullets out of the car.
As this went on, the man opened and closed the door several times, only to quickly close it again, police said.
After around two minutes, police arrested Michael T. Walsh, 37, of Bridgeport.

They said he has used several different names in the past and has a long criminal record, including convictions for weapons violations, assaults, sexual assaults, child porn, threatening, narcotics violations, probation violations and others.
Police recovered the gun -- a semi-auto Jennings 25 caliber -- along with five rounds. Walsh was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle and interfering with police.
His bond was set at $100,000. He is due in court on Feb. 5.
