Cookie Doh! Possibly Connected E. Coli Case In CT

That whole "Don't eat the cookie dough" story that ruined many a weekend around here, just got worse.

The Connecticut Department of Public Health is investigating an E. coli case which may be related to the Nestle recall.

The cookieteurs are voluntarily recalling prepackaged Nestle Toll House refrigerated cookie dough because of the risk.  If you have any in your fridge, throw them out.

The DPH warns that even after cooking the dough, "consumers might get the bacteria on their hands and on other cooking surfaces."

It's not a Connecticut-specific problem.  Since March there have been 66 reports of illness across 28 states.  More than two dozen people have been hospitalized as a result.
