Cops Find 100 Marijuana Plants in Foil-Lined Barn

Police busted what they called an “elaborate marijuana growing operation” in Glastonbury on Friday.

Inside a barn at 83 Ferry Lane South, which could have been mistaken for the set of Showtime’s “Weeds,” cops found a locked room lined with foil and equipped to provide artificial light, ventilation and nutrition for the growing plants.

Homeowner Michael Shenstone, 59, was taken in to custody.

With a helping hand from the East Central Narcotics Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration, police seized more than100 marijuana plants from the not-so-average harvest.

Shenstone was arrested and faces five charges, including operating a drug factory and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His bond was set at $150,000 and is set to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Sept. 22.
