Its about to get stinky in Storrs when the rare Corpse Flower or Titan Arum blooms.
The flower housed in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology’s conservatory is expected to bloom in the next couple of weeks.
If smelling one of the most unpleasant scents imaginable is for you, you can see the plant up close and personal.
The odor is described to be similar to decaying fish. The flower only blooms for about 36 hours and this will be only the third time the UConn plant has blossomed. The last time was in 2007.
When the flower does open, the conservatory will be open from 8 a.m. until midnight. There is no charge for admission.
