Courtney: Obama Right Not to Release bin Laden Photos

U.S. Rep Joe Courtney viewed the photos on Friday.

U.S. Rep Joe Courtney viewed photos of Osama bin Laden’s remains and said the terrorist leader’s demise is “beyond dispute” and the president is right not to publicly release those pictures.

Courtney is a member of the House Armed Services Committee and was invited to view several photographs Navy SEALS took of the remains. He saw them on Friday at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

"Upon viewing the photos, two things are clear: the accounts of Osama bin Laden’s demise as told by President Obama and Admiral William McRaven are accurate beyond dispute; and their decision not to publicly release these photos was the right one,” Courtney said.

Sen. Joseph Lieberman was also scheduled to view the photos.
