SCSU Closed After Crash Knocks Out Power

The Southern Connecticut State University campus in New Haven will be closed until 5 p.m. after a crash caused a power outage this morning.

A car hit and brought down a pole on Crescent Street around 8:30 a.m. and the road is closed between Fitch Street and Ella Grasso Boulevard

This is near the student center and the dorms.

United Illuminating was reporting 3,356 power outages, but the number is now down to 330.

Power has been restored to the residence halls and Connecticut Hall, but SCSU says the campus will be closed until 5 p.m. while UI restores power and repairs lines.
