Route 9 North was closed in Middletown after a crash on Tuesday afternoon, according to CT Travel Smart.
The highway was closed between exits 10 and 11.
A Facebook post from the South Fire District says this was a multivehicle crash and the crash caused significant delays.
The highway reopened sometime before 4 p.m.
