Three people were taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 East in Southington on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident brought traffic to a standstill near Exit 27.
In all, five cars and a tractor-trailer were involved, according to Southington fire officials.
It took firefighters 16 minutes to extricate the driver of one of the cars, they said.
In addition to the three people who were taken to the hospital, three others refused treatment.
