Body of Missing Man Pulled From Housatonic River in Salisbury

The body of a man who reportedly drowned in Salisbury on Tuesday night was recovered by a Connecticut State Police Dive Team Wednesday.

State police said crews were called to Housatonic River Road in Salisbury around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after getting a report of a drowning.

Drive teams arrived at the scene on Tuesday and could not find the man, authorities added. On Wednesday, the dive team receovered the body of the victim, identified as 40-year-old Anderson Guante of Brooklyn, New York.

The incident remains under investigation. The Chief Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death.
