A motorcyclist was seriously injured after he crashed over a guardrail and into the woods, according to the fire department.
Firefighters said they were called to Hamilton Avenue and Pearl Lake Road around 2:49 p.m. They said it appeared the rider crashed, went over a guardrail and fell 30 feet down an incline.
Fire officials said crews completed a low-angle rescue and removed the victim from the woods around 3:45 p.m.
The victim, who was not identified, suffered "significant body trauma" and was transported to Waterbury Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time, fire officials said.
