 Body Found on River Bank

The chief medical examiner is investigating after a body was found on the banks of the Connecticut River Sunday afternoon at Point Road Meadows. Police and firefighters were called to remove the body. Police are still investigating the cause of the death.  


Home Alone

A Hartford mother is accused of leaving her 19-month-old baby home alone.  Chantel Baldwin wasn't home when police responded to calls of a baby crying at her Wethersfield Avenue home Sunday morning, police said.  The child was not hurt.  Baldwin is facing risk of injury charges.


Security Pounces on Chicago Lover

A 45-year-old Newport woman seems to have loved the ’80s and it’s a hard habit state police tried to break when she climbed onstage during a Chicago concert at MGM Grand Theater, police said.  Lori Ann Murphy was "highly intoxicated" when she climbed onstage Saturday night, the Day of New London reports.  She struggled with security as they tried to escort her from stage and members of the State Police Casino Unit arrested her, the Norwich Bulletin reports.  She was charged with breach of peace and released on a $500 bond. 


Fatal Motorcycle Crash

A Rhode Island man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 395 in Putnam, Connecticut state police said. Joshua Smith, 25, of Coventry, R.I., was traveling southbound on the highway early Sunday evening when the motorcycle struck a wire-rope guard rail, according to police.  Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
