Couple Accused of Giving Booze to Teen

A Vernon couple has been charged, accused of  giving vodka and Southern Comfort to a 13-year-old minor Saturday night, the Hartford Courant reports.

Kristina Benjamin, 19, of Enfield, and Toby Molina, 21 of Rockville, were charged with risk of injury to a minor and providing alcohol to a minor. Benjamin also was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor.


Investigation Begins into Baby's Death

Hartford Police are investigating what they call the "untimely death" of a baby. The boy, 11-days-old,  was not breathing when medics arrived Sunday morning at an apartment on Barbour Street. An autopsy will be performed to determine how he died.


Two Arrested in Burglary Spree

Two people have been arrested, accused in a burglary spree spanning three towns. Sarah Gacioch, 25, and Nicholas Moore, 20, face multiple charges in connection with break-ins to nine houses in East Hampton, Portland and Glastonbury last fall, police said. During a search of their homes, police found hundreds of stolen items, as well as nearly a dozen guns, police said. Hampton police expect to make two more arrests.


Arrest Made in Stamford Slaying

A Bridgeport man has been charged in the shooting death of a local racquetball champion near a community center in January 2008, Stamford police said. Giovanni Rodriguez, 21, was charged Friday with murder in the death of Marco Paoletta Jr., 51. Prosecutors allege Rodriguez killed Paoletta, then teamed with his brother to set Paoletta's car on fire in Norwalk.
