Man Does Time for Long-Time Sex Assault 

A Massachusetts man has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for sexually assaulting a girl, starting when he was 13-years-old and she was 5. Nicholas Rufo, 21, of Longmeadow, Mass., assaulted the girl during weekend visits at her Lebanon home between 2001 and 2005.


Crooked Housing Director Sentenced

The former executive director of the East Haven Housing Authority is facing prison time at her sentencing Thursday in a scheme to steal nearly $400,000. Cassandra Ashe, 37, of North Haven pleaded guilty in March to the theft of money that was supposed to help low-income people pay their rent.


Man Accused of Threatening Police Officer

A Hartford man is facing several charges for allegedly making a violent threat against a Bloomfield police officer after a traffic stop.  Oscar Compton, 38, is accused of calling the police dispatch center late Tuesday night after he was given a ticket and threatened to kill the officer that pulled him over, according to police. Officers were able to identify Compton as the caller.  He faces charges including harassment and threatening.
