Police Officer Cleared of Broken Ankle

A Stonington police officer has been cleared by a jury after being sued by a teenager for her broken ankle. Officer Mario Ritacco has been blamed after telling former Westerly High School student Dana Dragon to get down off a dugout during a 2005 football game. She jumped from the roof and fractured her left ankle in several places. Ritacco said he assumed that because she had used the ladder to get to the roof, Dragon would use it to climb down.


Iron Worker Dies on Mohegan Tribe Construction Site

Federal and tribal officials are investigating the death of an iron worker Tuesday at  a construction accident at a building site for the Mohegan tribe. The worker died after falling while working on the Mohegan Government and Community Center overlooking Route 2A in Uncasville, according to tribal officials.


Man Charged in Brother's Death

A Guilford man has been charged with manslaughter with a motor vehicle in the drowning death of his brother in March. Daniel Fleischauer, 23, was allegedly drunk when the Jeep Cherokee he was driving plunged into Long Island Sound March 11. You can listen to the 911 call here
