Police Investigating Death of East Windsor Man as a Homicide

Police are investigating the death of a 73-year-old man in East Windsor as a homicide.

Police said a family member who became concerned when he could not reach 73-year-old Halsey Hesse Jr. by phone found him dead in the kitchen of his home on Fairway Drive around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators initially said the circumstances surrounding the death are suspicious. On Thursday, police said Hesse had several stab wounds.

The Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad and Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are assisting with the case.

Police said there was no forced entry to the home and they do not believe there is any threat to the public.

They said Thursday that they are “zeroing in on a person of interest” and they believe Hesse and the suspect knew each other.

Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious Tuesday night into Wednesday morning is encouraged to report it to police.
