A downed wire has closed part of Route 154 in Old Saybrook on Monday morning.
Old Saybrook Police said Route 154 near Route 9 and the VFW Highway is closed after an electrical wire came down.
Officers said the wire is on fire and is down across the road.
Firefighters and police are at the scene.
There is no estimate for when the road may reopen.
