Drug Arrest at Halfway House

Norwich Police arrested a man accused of selling cocaine out of a halfway house.

Norwich police arrested a man suspected of selling crack cocaine out of a halfway house on Tuesday.

Khalil P. Hipps, 31, of 80 Asylum St. was arrested after a long investigation into drug activity in the downtown neighborhood. Police issued a warrant at Hipps’ home and seized a small amount of crack packaged for sale and $725 in cash, police said.

Hipps was charged with selling crack cocaine. He is held on a $100,000 bail and set to be arraigned in court on Wednesday, April 18.

The police were told by multiple informants that Hipps was based out of 83 Washington St., the location of SCADD Liberty House, a transitional sober house.
