Drug Counselor Accused of Trying to Hire Client to Kill Wife

Eduardo Rosa’s job is to counsel people who use a Hartford methadone clinic to combat drug problems, but police say he tried to use one of his clients to kill his wife.

Rosa was in the process of getting a divorce from his wife when he allegedly offered the client $5,000 to carry out the hit, police said.

Instead of taking the money, the client went to police, who worked out a plan to record Rosa allegedly talking about the planned slaying, the Hartford Courant reports.

Rosa told police he just wanted someone to break into his wife's home to recover his tool set. He has been ordered held on $1 million bail.
