Dye Pack Explodes on Ansonia Bank Robbery Suspect

Ansonia police are trying to locate a man accused of robbing a local bank this afternoon.

Police said a man in his late 20s or early 30s entered the Webster Bank at 200 Division Street around 3:40 p.m. and demanded money from the teller. He did not show a weapon or threaten anyone.

According to police, the teller handed over some cash, along with the dye pack, and the man left the bank. Police said the dye pack exploded in the parking lot, leaving red dye on the cash and the suspect.

The suspect is between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, with a medium build, black hair, mustache and beard. He was wearing a dark-colored Nike jacket with a blue lining, blue jeans and dark shoes at the time of the crime.
