An East Haven teen who was killed last weekend while walking home from a carnival was laid to rest Monday.
Jeffrey Spencer, 15, had left a carnival at Our Lady of Pompeii and was trying to cross Foxon Road when he was struck. His funeral was held at the same church that hosted the carnival.
East Haven police are calling the crash an accident and the driver has isn’t being charged in the crash.
Sunday night Jeffrey Spencer’s friends and family gathered for a vigil at the crash site.
His parents want the state to look into whether there is a problem with the crosswalk signal not giving pedestrians enough time to get from one side to the other.
