The end might be near for hundreds of vicious chickens and roosters taken from a Harwinton home.
State police received a call and went to investigate at a home on Litchfield Road on Friday.
Officials said they are not sure whether the birds actually fought on the property and they did not find any fighting rings but there was evidence that this was house of horrors for the birds -- spurs and other sharp objects used to arm roosters during battles.
.

No charges have been filed against the homeowners, but the investigation is continuing.
