E.O. Smith Staff Member On Leave Amid Investigation

A staff member at E.O. Smith High School is on paid leave pending an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior.

Details of the situation were not immediately available, but Superintendent Jill Krieger sent the following letter to families Monday afternoon.

“Earlier today, numerous sources contacted E.O. Smith High School regarding a concern over possible inappropriate behavior of a staff member. Both the CT State Police and the Department of Children and Families were immediately contacted. The staff member was put on paid administrative leave pending an investigation. We are cooperating fully with the authorities on this investigation. At this time, I am unable to provide any additional information. Please know that the safety of our students is always our top priority.”
