A man was taken to the hospital on Wednesday after he fell while working in an underground vault in Hartford.
The man fell 10 to 12 feet as he was entering the vault, Hartford Fire Department Deputy Chief Alvaro Cucuta said.
According to Eversource, the man is a contractor for an electric company and was doing an electrical upgrade when he fell.
He was removed by firefighters and was transported to St. Francis Hospital.
Authorities did not release details on the man's condition.
It's unclear what caused the fall.
Editor's Note: Hartford Fire Department officials originally said the man who fell was an Eversource employee. Eversource says the man who fell does not work for Eversource and is a contractor who works for an electric company.
