Ex-Boyfriend Sends Multiple Threatening Messages to Woman: Police

A woman received hundreds of text messages, some threatening, from her ex-boyfriend since breaking up with him last week, Southington police said. 

Michael D. Karpuska, 43, of West Hartford, allegedly threatened to harm the victim after she ended their relationship a week earlier. Since they broke up, Karpuska left the victim 39 voicemails and hundreds of text messages, police said.

Southington Police said Karpuska threatened to physically harm the victim and made references about hurting her family because of their Polish heritage. 

Karpuska is accused of second-degree threatening, second-degree harassment, second-degree intimidation due to bias and breach of peace. 

His bond was set to $250,000.
