State Police have issued a warning to drivers about a man impersonating a trooper. Police say the man pulled a driver over between exits 73 and 71 on I-95 in Old Lyme Wednesday morning.
Instead of issuing a speeding ticket, the man asked the driver for $50 in exchange for a verbal warning. Investigators say the suspect was wearing a dark grey uniform-style shirt, with no name tags or visible badges.
State Police say the man was driving a dark gray Dodge Charger with a single blue light mounted in the windshield.
