Famed Paranormal Investigator Lorraine Warren Has Died

Famed paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren, of Monroe, has passed away, according to the New England Society for Psychic Research. She was 91.

Lorraine Warren and her husband, Ed Warren, were among the lead investigators in the famed haunted house case that inspired the 1979 film “The Amityville Horror.”

The Warrens wrote many books on the supernatural and two were made into movies, “The Demon Murder Case” and “The Haunted.”

They also founded the New England Society for Psychic Research, which is based in Monroe. in 1957.

Lorraine Warren passed away on Thursday, April 18 at her home.  

Services will be held on Wednesday at St. Stephen's Church in Trumbull. Interment will be in Stephney Village Cemetery in Monroe. 

Ed Warren passed away in 2006.
