Shelton Man Killed in Crash on I-91 South in Wallingford

A man from Shelton has died after a crash on Interstate 91 south in Wallingford early Monday morning.

Investigators said 34-year-old Jeremy Bischoff, of Shelton, was traveling in the center lane on I-91 south just north of exit 13 around 2:10 a.m. when he collided when the back of an unknown commercial vehicle.

After the collision, state police said the Bischoff's vehicle spun out of control across the left lane and hit the metal cable barrier. The vehicle then came to an uncontrolled final rest in the left lane and center median.

According to state police, Bischoff was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities believe Bischoff may have hit the rear end or right rear corner of a dry van or an enclosed-style semi-trailer before hitting the metal cable barrier.
