Police have identified a Newington man as the victim of a head-on crash in Hartford early Sunday morning.
Jacob Uterstaedt, 26, was driving southbound on Newington Avenue when his car collided with a pickup truck being driven northbound around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, according to police. Investigators said it appeared Uterstaedt crossed the double yellow line into the path of the pickup.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
