Fire at Farm in New Milford

Two-alarm fire is at New Milford Farms on Boardman Road.

Firefighters responded to a fire at a farm in New Milford Monday.

A two-alarm fire erupted at New Milford Farms at 60 Boardman Road around 7 a.m.

New Milford Farms is a composting facility, according to its website.  It collects waste from the Nestle plant nearby.

The flames were knocked down after a short time. 

Connecticut Light & Power cut electricity to the building as firefighters battled the blaze.  No one was injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but New Milford police said they do not suspect any criminal activity.
