Flames ripped through a garage on Tyler Street in East Haven on Monday afternoon.
The fire broke out just before 12:30 p.m. at a detached garage at the F.J. Weidner subcontractor facility at 34 Tyler Street. According to the business owner, the affected garage is not part of the machining business and is rented to an outside company.
Footage from the scene shows two burned-out cars and heavy damage to the detached garage. Firefighters said flames gutted the structure.
Authorities have not released any information on the cause of the fire, but the business owner speculated that a kerosene heater may have been to blame.
East Haven fire officials said three firefighters suffered minor injuries when they slipped on ice.
The main building at 34 Tyler Street is structurally sound, according to the fire department. Other businesses housed by the facility sustained minor smoke and water damage.
