Several school districts have announced early dismissals today due to the heat and humidity. This marks the third day the hot weather has affected classes.
Tuesday and Wednesday both brought excessive heat with temperatures in the 90s.
The high temperatures paired with high humidity made temperatures feel like triple digits. The weather has thrown a wrench in some districts' back to school plans, with some towns and cities opting for early releases or even canceling school altogether.
The high temperature today is expected to be near 90.
Many districts have older buildings that do not have air conditioning.
