Five Sick Dogs Taken from Mystic Home

Police have arrested a woman accused of living under a false name and selling dogs from her home.

Police arrested Linda Snow, 59, of Olso Street in Mystic, on Friday after executing a search warrant and took five puppies to be treated.

Snow was charged with cruelty to animals and is a fugutive from Massachusetts, where she faces similar charges, officials said.

The Groton Patch reports that Snow was living under the name Mary Howard and had a false Connecticut driver's license and car registration.

Authorities said Snow is believed to be connected to the Connecticut Cockapoos and Maltepoo/Maltipoo Puppies for Sale Web sites -- sites registered to Mary Howard, according to Network Solutions.

Police are now looking for people who bought dogs from http://conneticutcockapoos.com/ or http://conneticutcockapoos.com/maltepoos.html.

Police are investigating the incident and ask anyone who has purchased a dog from Mary Howard, Linda Snow, Michael Howard or Mark Zimmerman to call Groton Town Police Department at 860-441-6712 or the Animal Control Officer at 860-441-6709.

Snow was charged with criminal impersonation, five counts of cruelty to animals and interfering.
Snow is being held on a $50,000.00.

The dogs were treated at Four Paws Veterinary Clinic in Old Mystic. Police say four of the five are in the town dog pound. A fifth remains in the care of doctors.
