A Florida murder suspect was found hiding in a New Britain basement, according to authorities in Florida.
Police said 20-year-old Luis Rivera is a suspect in the killing of 16-year-old Bruce Hagans. Hagans’ body was found in a shallow grave in Orange County, Florida. Police believe he was shot and abducted in Winter Garden, Florida on May 31.
Investigators identified Rivera as a suspect but he fled the area. On Tuesday authorities tracked Rivera to a home in New Britain, Connecticut. Police said he was helped into hiding by extended family and friends.
Rivera faces multiple charges including second-degree murder and tampering with evidence. He has been extradited back to Orange County to face the charges.
