Hartford Police have arrested officer Joven Gonzalez after he allegedly assaulted a former domestic partner and her acquaintance.
The incident occurred at a motel in Hartford early Sunday, police said.
The male victim sustained a head injury as a result of being struck by a firearm, according to police. The woman sustained minor injuries as a result of the alleged assault.
As a result of the incident, Gonzalez has been suspended without pay and stripped of his police powers and badge, police said.
Gonzalez was off-duty at the time of the incident.
Gonzalez faces charges including second and third degree assault, first degree reckless endangerment and first degree threatening.
He is being held on a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 30.

Gonzalez started at the academy in August 2017 and has been an officer since March 2018.
