Former WWE Diva Plans Another Trip to Rehab

Tamara Sytch, who went by the name "Sunny," was arrested 5 times since September.

The attorney for former pro-wrestling diva "Sunny" said they are hoping that a judge will lower her bond to a promise to appear so that she can go to a rehab facility in Pennsylvania.

Tamara Sytch, 39, of Staten Island, New York, was arrested in Branford five times in one month in connection with domestic violence charges.

She is due in court on Thursday and her attorney, Rob Serafinowicz, said it is for the judge to lower her bond.

They are waiting for a bed to open at the rehab facility and WWE would bring her to the center and pay for her treatment, the attorney said.

"WWE sets the bar and is second to none when it comes to tending to the needs of their former talent. They should be commended for all the effort on Tammy's behalf in order to find the right treatment program," Serafinowicz said.

Sytch was found intoxicated and sleeping at her prior residence earlier this month, in violation of protective orders issued for previous domestic violence charges, according to police. The next day, she was again arrested when she was found at her ex-boyfriend's home.

When the bond amount was announced, the judge said the time had come after she appeared in his courtroom twice in two days.

Her ex-boyfriend told police he came home around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8 and found Sytch passed out on the couch with an empty bottle of alcohol nearby, according to court records.

There was a large hole in the bathroom door and Sytch's ex-boyfriend said Tamara had been in the bathroom, yelling and rambling, then kicked down the entire door, according to court documents.

The coupld had been dating for several months and she had lived with him for two months, but she has a problem with alcohol and had been in rehabilitation for a month, according to court records.

Police said they found Sytch drunk on the bedroom floor under a large white blanket. Officers pulled back the blanket and told Sytch to get up several times, but she refused, slurred her speech and smelled of alcohol, according to police.

There is a protective order against Sytch that prevents her from assaulting, threatening, abusing, harassing, following, interfering with or stalking her ex-boyfriend, according to police. She has also been ordered to stay away from his home, not contact him and not come within 100 yards of him.

Officers took her into custody and double locked the handcuffs, according to court documents.

She was taken into custody the next day when she went back to the house, climbed the balcony and went in through an unlocked door, according to police.

A bail bondsman dropped her off down the street from the house around 4 p.m., police said, and Sytch told officers that she was there to get some clothes and her cell phone.

She knew her ex-boyfriend would not be home, so she did not think she was violating the restraining order requiring her to stay 100 yards away from him by going to the unoccupied residence, according to police.

Public Defender certified intern Edward Murphy said Sytch went back to the condo to get her belongings. She didn't have a cell phone and didn't know how to get to Branford police for an escort, he said.

In September, Sytch was arrested three days in row in connection with domestic violence charges.

Sytch went by “Sunny” in the WWE. Her bikini issue of RAW Magazine sold a record number of copies, according to WWE

WWE has sent Sytch  to rehabilitation several times.

"As part of WWE’s Former Talent Rehabilitation Program, we sent Ms. Sytch to rehabilitation three times, with all costs covered by WWE. Unfortunately, Ms. Sytch continues to make poor personal choices. WWE will continue to provide assistance should she want to take advantage of it," WWE said in an an e-mailed statement.

On Sept. 11, police took Sytch into custody at 8:55 p.m. and charged her with disorderly conduct.

At 4:49 p.m. on Sept. 12, police again took Sytch into custody and charged her with disorderly conduct, strangulation in the third degree and violation of protective order. She was held on $25,000 bond and arraigned in New Haven Superior Court on Thursday.

At 8 p.m. on Sept. 13, Branford police again took Sytch into custody and charged her with violation of protective order.

She was held on $25,000 bond and arraigned in New Haven Superior Court.

Sytch has been charged with disorderly conduct, criminal mischief in the third degree and three counts of violation of a protective order.

WWE quotes her as saying: “My definition of a Diva is that all-around, well-rounded performer. … The girls who came before me were so one dimensional and then I came along and anything they threw at me I could do. I could get in the ring and have a match, I managed at ringside, I co-hosted TV shows, I did broadcasting, I did the modeling. I was the first one."

Her biography on the WWE Superstars Web site said she managed three teams to the World Tag Team Championship, was AOL’s “most downloaded woman of 1996,” and she is a two-rime Slammy Award winner.

According to the Online World of Wrestling, she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.
