Fourth Case of Measles in Connecticut

A fourth case of measles has been confirmed in Connecticut.

A child from Fairfield County came down with the measles, according to Bill Gerrish, of the state Department of Health.

The child was unvaccinated, had traveled abroad and is recovering, state officials said.

No additional information was released.

In February, there were two confirmed measles cases in Fairfield County. One was an adult and the other an infant.

Last week, an adult in New Haven County also came down with the measles.

Health officials said the best thing anyone can do to prevent measles is to be vaccinated.
