Fun for All Ages at Durham Fair

On Friday the Durham Fair opens for the weekend.

Where can you find rides, fair food, games and fun for people of all ages? This weekend when you head to Durham for the 93rd annual Durham Fair

The fair opens on Friday at 9 a.m. and runs through Sunday.

If, you’ve never been to the fair, here's what should you expect.

Let’s start with the music. The headliners are Blake Shelton and The Guess Who. There's also the U.S. Coast Guard Band and the Taubl Family -- you saw them on NBC's “America’s Got Talent.”

And what’s a fair without animals? There are huge barns filled farm animals, from cattle to goats and sheep to swine.

OK, animals aren’t your thing. So, you need to find something to do. Well there’s always shopping and the Durham fair offers lots of it. There are dozens of craft vendors, including painted children’s clothing, functional pottery and hot sauce.

With all the shopping and rides and checking out the animals, you’re sure to work up an appetite. Take your pick. Chances are that your favorite fair food will be there: BBQ chicken, pulled pork, apple fritters, fried dough and funnel cakes.

What will all the fun in one place cost you? A 3-day pass is $32. If you want to just go for the day, it's $15 for adults and kids 11 and under get in for free.
