Glastonbury Grandmother Charged With Risk of Injury

A grandmother from Glastonbury has been arrested, accused of almost dropping her 5-year-old grandson while she was intoxicated and holding him up by the neck.

Police said 50-year-old Kelly Curran was intoxicated when she arrived home Friday, argued with her daughter, went into the room where her 5-year-old grandson was sleeping and “scooped him up.”

Curran almost dropped the boy and “as a result was holding him up by his neck,” according to a news release from police.

She was charged with risk of injury and disorderly conduct.

Bond was set at $5,000 and she was unable to post it.
