Woman's Body Found in Suitcase Along Greenwich Road

Police continue to investigate after the body of a young woman was found bound in a suitcase along an affluent road in Greenwich Tuesday morning.

Greenwich highway workers discovered the body along Glenville Road, just north of Stillman Lane, around 8:15 a.m., according to police. Officers responded found what appears to be the body of a woman between 18 and 30 years old around 10- to 15-feet off the road.

“The victim was found bound at the hands and at the feet and the victim was found in a suitcase,” Capt. Robert Berry, from the Greenwich Police Detective Division, said.

Police said they have some leads on who the victim is, but they are not able to confirm anything. They encourage anyone with information to call the Greenwich Police tip line at 203-622-3333 or email tips@greenwichct.org.

It’s not known what caused the woman’s death or where she died, but an autopsy will be performed Wedneday.

Police said the woman was not killed in the same location where she was found.

Greenwich police are working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the State’s Attorney’s Office in Stamford.
